Prevalence of microalbuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus having diabetic retinopathy in a tertiary care hospital in eastern India: A cross-sectional study

Diabetic retinopathy is a common microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus and one the leading causes acquired blindness. Microalbuminuria reflects pathophysiological state vascular dysfunction organ damage. It noticed that rise in urinary albumin excretion seen early phase diabetic retinopathy. The concordance microalbuminuria has been well reported type 1 diabetes; however, for 2 diabetes, there paucity data. To estimate prevalence patients with attending out-patient department (OPD) tertiary care center eastern India also to find out any association between severity : study included 200 having populations were selected by thorough clinical examination as per inclusion–exclusion criteria.
